Job Summary
Saloon Managers / Leaders are true team leader of our Hair Saloon locations, where we strive daily to serve men and junior men with exceptional hair services in a place that is built just for them, in the tradition of the community barbershop. You’ll work alongside the corporate team to provide growth opportunities for your stylists and other team members, build a profitable business operation, and ensure a consistently exceptional customer experience.  Note: Having a current, active cosmetology and / or barber license for the state of Missouri is a requirement for this full-time position. 

 
Overview of Responsibilities 
  • Follow, understand, communicate, and promote Hair Saloon's standard operating procedures, company values, and a healthy, team-focused Saloon culture
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain top-performing talent for your store
  • Guide the development of your team members, including conducting regular coaching and staff member performance evaluations
  • Perform premium men’s grooming services to Hair Saloon standards (approximately half time)
  • Comfort using retail-appropriate computer technology
  • Oversee staff scheduling, quality control, inventory, store finances, and facilities
  • Support clients in choosing the perfect service, style, and products for their individual needs, ensuring their complete satisfaction
  • Build lasting relationships with clients and team members
  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and management, both verbally and in writing
  • Nurture a positive, professional, and motivating team environment

1.    Management and Leadership Skills: Able to lead a team, delegate tasks effectively, and provide guidance and support when needed. Strong leadership skills are necessary to foster a positive work environment, motivate employees, and promote teamwork.
2.    Guest Service Excellence: Exceptional customer service skills are vital in our service industry. The store manager should be able to interact with guests professionally, address their needs and concerns, and ensure their overall satisfaction with the services provided.
3.    Business Acumen: Understanding of retail business operations, including budgeting, financial management, and inventory control, are needed to manage the day-to-day operations of the Saloon. Able to analyze financial reports, set and achieve sales targets, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
4.    Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are needed to instruct staff, communicate with guests, and partner with suppliers and vendors. The manager should be able to communicate clearly, confidently, and courteously in a variety of situations.
5.    Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills are needed to manage schedules, appointments, and staff rotations efficiently. Able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and maintain a well-organized and orderly workspace.
6.    Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to quickly identify and address issues as they arise is essential in a fast-paced retail environment. The manager should be proactive in resolving conflicts, handling customer complaints, and finding solutions to operational challenges.
7.    Team Building and Motivation: A SERVANT LEADER. Building a cohesive team and fostering a positive work culture is essential for the success of the Saloon. The manager should be able to inspire and motivate your team, recognize their achievements, and provide opportunities for growth and development.
8.    Technical Skills: Proficiency in barbering / hair styling techniques is important for a store leader, both in guiding your staff and supporting your customers.

Qualifications
  • Currently licensed with Missouri cosmetology and/or barber board
  • Experience in customer service, use of retail computer technology, and cash controls
  • Previous management / leadership experience required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in hair industry
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • High school graduate or equivalent
Compensation: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
